This is turning out to be a fun pattern. Once you earn how and where to place the colors.
that’s a skill that is sometimes learned as you go. ( after I made a bunch of units with the white not in the right spot) ha! But Im going with more of a vintage feel to this one. I’ve always loved quilts that look like they have had a history.
I had added a dark tan color but then decided it was too dark, so I’m transferring it out. That’s the fun of making quilts, you can decide things as you go sometimes based on what you see.
I will be offering this on a made to order soon, If your interested in one made for you, feel free to send me a message/comment.
So I struggle with all the extra scraps and cuts when making so many quilts.
Its a serious job to keep up on them! Its easier to use them if you can, when time allows~~ but there are too many, eventually you have to do something with them!
I like making the table runners, but I don’t have enough tables! LOL
So my new project is to make these very simple ( no pockets or zippers) quilted bags.
I find it relaxing to do simple projects~~~ and who doesn’t need another bag!
anyway~~~ in between orders I try to make good use of my time, these have been fun to play around with 🙂
I plan on taking them into my Salon for great Christmas gifts!
Back to the sewing room!
Also coming up soon a Multi color version of my Irish Chain quilt
Almost finished up with this King size Migrating Geese quilt.
I’m finishing up the border quilting this week 🙂 In between yard work ~~which I have given up on, the lawn mower wont start~ and the leaves are turning and falling now~~ yay mowing the lawn is done! ha! well until the snow flys! Least I know the snow shovel works.. 🙂
I finally got this collections of blocks put together as a whole. The story behind this one is 3 years long. I thought it would be a good idea to teach myself this star block by making 1 in every size. Well when I was done I wasn’t sure how to get them to all fit together, so I sorta lost steam, and set it aside. for 3 years. 🙂 Whos idea was it to make one in every size?? LOL
Its been a very busy few weeks! Getting quilts to the finish line is always such a good feeling.
The hexigon quilt measures 90 X 100 which makes it a nice queen
The Flower Quit is one of my favorites. They recently came in a larger size, and Ive been working on how to make them a bed size. I have another one in the works right now, done in pastels it should be coming up soon!
These Flower Quilt Panels are one of my favorites. Made by Robert Kauffman, and it is a digital print. Beautiful!
They recently came in a larger size, and I’ve been working on how to make them an actual bed size. Which I had many requests to do. I have another one in the works right now, done in pastels it should be coming up soon!
Here’s a couple peeks at the pastel one coming up soon: its all pinned and ready for the actual quilting :)))) My favorite part! I hope all is well in your neck of the woods, and I will be back soon! Sew ya later!
So this week, I have finished this beauty. Hexagons with greens and reds~
This pattern comes together nice at the end. So many when they first see the blocks thinks is ” busy” or “wild”
but one of the things I love about quilting is to see and know the beauty before the finishing.
This is my 2nd time making this one, and it is just as beautiful as the first. The echo quilting I have on this one makes it a very unique textile, and will be around for many years into the future.
Its all pinned and sammiched, ready for the quilting 🙂
This one is more of an Art Project. The beauty of it is no 2 squares are the same.
All different in color, and size. Its tricky to put together, custom making pieces to get them to come together without showing where the seams are at . Im not even sure how they go together, Its called winging it. 🙂
You can see how a couple of small changes in colors, and sashings can make for a whole new variety of options.
SOOO many quilts to make, so little time! 🙂
This one is one of my own, and will be up for sale soon. It measures right now at 98 X 98 but will shrink some with the quilting and washing, So it will be a nice size Queen.
For now getting it layered and pinned, and trying to decide what type of quilting to do on it…
