This version of the log cabin I call it Log Cabin ~ ( lack of a better name for it) has great depth. Made form different blocks. 1 large log block, and 4 smaller log blocks to make 1 big block. Its supper fun to make. One of the oldest patterns of patchwork, a true classic /
I do have 3 variations of Log Cabin Quilts all beautiful in all 3 different ways.
Cascading Hexagon/ King Size Quilt/ Strawberries and Cream Edition
This beautiful quilt has many color ways and it looks awesome in any of them. I have a post showing the other variations here in my Quilts By The Pattern / Cascading Hexagons.
Quilt Top for a Curtian?
One of my favorite things to do, is to put the single layer quilt top in the window with sun behind it. Some of them are stunning, and look like stained glass. The seam allowences from the back create a beauriful outline. As the maker it makes me smile to seem them neat and tidy. 🙂
On Point Log Cabin Quilt Getting Started
This is the same pattern as the one above, but because of the dark color way its hard to tell they are the same. This one was beautiful Batik Fabrics with Hand dyed Blues I made a lot of myself. Very Big project for me.

Geese On The Edge Quilt – Handmade Quilts For Sale / Custom Made To Order
There’s just something about a Flying Geese On Th Edge Quilt that always captures my heart—and my Geese On The Edge Quilt is no exception. This pattern has quickly become a favorite of mine, and every time I make one, I find myself experimenting with different colors and layouts. Each one turns out beautifully unique, and that’s part of the magic of custom handmade quilts/ Quilts For Sale
The Making of Geese On The Edge
The construction of this quilt is both simple and complex—which is why I love it so much. The design itself is inspired by the traditional Flying Geese block, but instead of keeping the geese in neat little rows, I love the idea of them trailing off toward the edges. It creates this beautiful movement across the quilt, almost like a flock of geese in flight.
The tricky part? Making sure the geese still feel balanced while also having that falling-off-the-edge effect. I think that’s what makes this design so captivating. It’s not perfectly symmetrical—and that’s exactly what makes it perfect.
I typically free-motion quilt these with designs that compliment the direction of the geese, adding extra texture and visual interest. Sometimes I’ll do swirly, windy lines like a breeze pushing the geese along. Other times I’ll do modern straight-line quilting, with some of my fabulous Terrl Loy Rulers which really lets the piecing pop. Either way, the quilting is always done by hand (not computerized!) and completely one-of-a-kind.
Choosing Colors – Endless Possibilities
One of my favorite parts about making a Geese On The Edge Quilt is playing with color placement. It’s amazing how the entire vibe of the quilt can change depending on what color scheme you choose.
Bold and Bright? Picture warm oranges, bright yellows, and deep blues — creating a bold statement piece full of energy.
Soft and Subtle? Picture soft greys, light blues, and crisp whites — giving a calm and cozy feeling to the quilt.
Moody and Dramatic? Black backgrounds with deep jewel tones like emerald, plum, and sapphire — creating a stunning, high-impact quilt.
I can also do this quilt in all neutral tones, using shades of whites, creams, and beiges. This gives it a modern minimalist look, letting the texture of the quilting do all the talking.
Built To Last – Handcrafted with Care
Like all of my quilts for sale , Geese On The Edge is built to be used, loved, and passed down. I always use:
100% Cotton Fabrics for the quilt top and backing.
Cotton or Double-Batted Options for maximum coziness.
Hand-Guided Free Motion Quilting (no computerized designs here!)
Washed and Pre-shrunk to ensure minimal shrinkage once you get it home.
The great thing about this design is that no two quilts ever turn out exactly alike. Even if I make another Geese On The Edge Quilt, the colors, layout, and quilting will always be slightly different—making yours truly one-of-a-kind.
Choose Your Size and Colors: I offer this quilt in King, Queen, or Lap Size, and you can customize the color scheme however you like. Just leave me a note when ordering, and I’ll work with you to make sure it’s exactly what you envision.
Pick Your Batting Option: You can choose between a single-layer batting for a lightweight, breathable quilt—or double-layer batting for a thicker, fluffier quilt with extra texture. Both options are built to last.
Turnaround Time: Since each quilt is handmade to order, my current turnaround time is about 12 weeks. If you need it sooner for a special occasion, just message me and I’ll do my best to accommodate.
