What began as a love for fabric and design turned into something more over time.
The more quilts I made, the more I realized how much quality matters—how fabric feels, how stitching holds up, and how a quilt actually lives in someone’s home.
If you’re ready to explore your options, begin with this guide on how to buy a handmade quilt. Learn what to look for in quality, size, and style to find the perfect quilt for your home.

This was a nice change up from always using White. Not everyone wants a white quilt. 🙂 So the Gray gives this one a more subtle look. Lemoyne Star Quilt Made To Order

Thank you for stopping by my blog — and for considering one of my quilts for sale! Every quilt I create tells a story. Some are custom orders, others are fun side projects made from leftover fabrics, but all are stitched with care and built to last for generations.
The Joy of Straight Line Quilting
This little beauty was a wall hanging for one of my returning customers. I used straight line quilting, which can look deceptively simple — but the results are striking and clean. It’s double batted for extra texture and weight, giving it that heirloom feel that makes handmade quilts so special.
The “Cracker Box Quilt” — A Happy Accident Turned Favorite
This one has a fun backstory! The Cracker Box Quilt got its name when I started saving my fabric scraps in an empty Saltine cracker box. Once it’s full, I know it’s time to turn those scraps into something beautiful.
Each block is made from leftover pieces from previous projects — it’s my version of fabric recycling! Not only does it reduce waste, it also creates a one-of-a-kind patchwork design that can never be duplicated.
Sustainability is stitched into every quilt I make — no scrap goes to waste, and every thread finds new life.
I love creating whole cloth quilts, especially for people who appreciate beautiful quilting texture over busy patterns. These quilts allow my free-motion quilting to shine — all those swirling motifs, scallops, and ruler work designs show up beautifully against solid cotton.
Each one can be made in your color choice. Think of it as custom quilting artwork that’s practical, washable, and eco-friendly — because cotton is not plastic.
Color Falls Quilt is a take on a Bargello Designed quilt. The progressing pattern can be very different depending on the color placement you decide on. This is one of those quilts that only the maker can visualize the end result. Even I have been surprised how stunning they can be, I made it in a more neutral toned ( purple and soft gray) and it was a great combo too.

Color Falls and Cascading Hexagon Quilts
My Color Falls Quilt (a take on the Bargello style) plays with movement and shading — each color placement changes the entire look. It’s a true artistic process from start to finish.
Then there’s my Cascading Hexagon Quilt, which I’ve made in several color stories, including the lovely “Strawberries and Cream.” Each version turns out completely different. My favorite part? Customers choose the colors — not whatever trend the box stores are pushing this year.
I take pride in creating sustainable quilts that are made to last — not mass-produced or disposable. Many fabrics in my quilts are cotton, which is renewable and non-toxic. Even if a cotton quilt somehow ended up in a landfill (which would break my heart), it would decompose naturally.
Each quilt I make helps cut down on textile waste, supports a small maker, and adds beauty to your home without adding plastic to the planet.
Cotton is not plastic — and handmade is not disposable.

—an abstract handmade cotton quilt available in King or Queen size. Better than mass-produced, every one is unique.
From Blue Crush to Color Crush: A Handmade Quilt With Heart
Not all quilts are created equal. Some are mass-produced, folded, and boxed with zero personality. But my Color Crush Quilt? It’s a living, evolving design that began with a burst of orange inspiration—and has since become one of my most popular and customizable abstract quilts.
This post is all about the journey behind the Color Crush Quilt, the story of how it came to life, why each version is truly unique, and what makes it a standout when you’re searching for handmade quilts for sale online.
The first version of this quilt was bright orange—so naturally, I jokingly named it the “Orange Crush Quilt.” But the minute I made it in blue, I knew I had something more versatile. Blue Crush felt right too, and from there, “Color Crush” became the umbrella name for this bold, abstract, color-forward design.
This quilt doesn’t follow traditional block rules. It’s pieced one square at a time, completely freeform. There are no perfectly matching seams, no mass-produced templates. Each square becomes its own little work of art, and the full quilt top grows organically—one block inspiring the next.
The Abstract Joy of Quilt-Making: One Block at a Time
One of the most exciting things about making this quilt is its unpredictability. The block assembly is abstract and intentional—nothing is perfectly aligned, and that’s what makes it so rich with personality. It takes a ton of patience and a strong eye for color balance to get the quilt to feel cohesive while keeping it delightfully chaotic.
Every Color Crush Quilt is truly one-of-a-kind. Even if I use the same palette, the final result is never the same. And honestly, that’s the joy of quilting at this level—it’s not about replicating perfection. It’s about creating something bold, expressive, and totally unique to your space. Why Handmade Quilts Are Worth It
If you’ve ever wondered why handmade quilts are more expensive than the ones at big box stores, the answer is in the process—and the heart. With Color Crush, each square is cut, placed, and sewn by hand. The layout isn’t printed or factory-calculated. It’s guided by feel, color, and flow.
Mass-produced quilts may be cheap, but they’re made to last just a few washes. My handmade cotton quilts are meant to last for years, sometimes decades. They’re made with high-quality materials, thoughtful construction, and the time it takes to do it right.
Whether you’re decorating your home or looking for a personalized gift, a King size handmade quilt or a Queen size custom quilt can become a lasting heirloom.
What’s also special is that I work one-on-one with customers to tweak the palette or adjust sizing. I offer custom made quilts because everyone’s home and style is different. The Color Crush pattern lends itself beautifully to personalization—you can request earthy tones, jewel tones, pastels, or go bold with brights.
And no matter what size you need—King size quilt, Queen size, or something else custom—we’ll make it happen. These quilts aren’t hanging out in storage. They’re made-to-order, stitched with intention.
If you’ve been searching for a quilt that feels like you—not just another pattern pulled from a shelf—this is it. The Color Crush Quilt combines artistry with functionality, and every version tells its own story.

Behind the Seams: The Story of My 16 Stars, Color Crush & Color Falls Quilts
Every quilt has a story — and these three are some of my favorites. From the classic 16 Stars Quilt to the bold Color Falls and the wildly creative Color Crush, each one has its own unique process and personality. I love sharing the behind-the-scenes journey of how these Handmade Quilts come to life, especially when they end up in the hands of someone who truly loves them.
If you’re searching for Quilts for Sale, these three are a great glimpse into my style. And yes — each of these can be Made To Order, customized in size, color, and quilting style. So whether you love the traditional Ohio Star Quilt, the cascading beauty of Color Falls, or the artistic flair of Color Crush, I’d love to make one just for you.
This 16 Stars Quilt, also known as the Ohio Star Quilt, has always been a personal favorite of mine. There’s just something about the way the stars come together in perfect symmetry that makes this pattern timeless. But what really excites me is how drastically the look can change just by swapping the colorways. Its also a quilt I love to use my favorite rulers with, the blocks lean themselves to custom quilting so well 🙂
I’ve made this Custom Made Quilt in so many variations—high contrast, low contrast, warm home-spun antique colors, and even bold modern Black and White designs. Every single time, it feels like I’m making a whole new quilt. It’s one of those classic patchwork designs that works no matter how you change it up.
One of my favorite colorways for this quilt was a soft Blue, White, and Pale Yellow combination. It had that cozy, English Cottage feel that instantly felt like it belonged in a sunlit room with a soft breeze flowing in. I remember finishing that one and thinking, I should make this one again….
The 16 Stars Quilt can also be made in Made To Order Quilts/ Quilts for Sale. That means you get to pick your size, your colors, and even your preferred quilting density. Whether you love bold and bright colorways or soft and muted tones, I’d love to make one just for you.

Color Falls Quilt – Bold and Beautiful
Ahhh, The Color Falls Quilt. This one is such a showstopper every time I make it. It’s based on a Bargello Style Quilt, which means the design flows in a cascading motion of color—sort of like a waterfall of fabric. Depending on how you line up the colors, you can get a completely different look each time.
What I love most about this quilt is the versatility. If you want something subtle and cozy, you can go with muted colors like soft teals, greys, and creams. But if you want something eye-catching and full of life, bold jewel tones or bright rainbow colors look absolutely stunning in this pattern.
The Color Falls Quilt is another Made To Order Quilt. You get to pick your colors, and I’ll do my magic in piecing it all together. It’s such a fun quilt to make, and it always turns out stunning no matter what color choices you go with.
👉 Thinking of a Custom Made Quilt? This pattern is perfect for someone who wants a statement piece in their home. The movement of color is so mesmerizing, and it’s guaranteed to become a conversation piece.
The Color Crush Quilt has a huge history for me. Some of my first rebellions to not wanting to follow patterns. Can’t you start sewing blocks and then even though they aren’t the same size , somehow get them to fit? ~~~Why, YES>< YES you cant. I added more depth to the story by using and learning how to hand dye some of my fabrics. Which I must admit I don’t have much time to do anymore. But its a Beautiful Abstract Artistic quilt.
And of course The Migrating Geese Quilt, that one is a beauty once Quilted up, and it can be done very uniquely.
