neutral hexagon quilt/ Custom Made Quilts/ Made To Order Quilts
Hi friends,
I’m working on a softer, more neutral version of one of my hexagon quilts right now—and it’s turning out really beautiful.
I’ve started sharing the progress here:
I’ll be updating it as I go if you’d like to follow along.

This custom hexagon quilt is a softer take on one of my most popular patterns. While many of my hexagon quilts feature bold, vibrant fabrics, this version uses muted, neutral tones for a calm, timeless look.
This post will be updated as the quilt comes together—from fabric selection to the final stitching—so you can follow the full process from start to finish.

How to Order a Handmade Quilt
Fabric Selection & Color Planning
Every custom quilt begins with choosing the right fabrics. For this quilt, the focus is on soft neutrals—blended tones that create movement without overwhelming the pattern.

These shades work together to highlight the hexagon design while keeping the overall look subtle and balanced.
Building the Hexagon Units
Each hexagon is carefully pieced together before being joined into the larger quilt layout. This stage takes time, but it’s where the pattern really begins to take shape.

As more units are completed, you can start to see how the color placement creates depth and variation across the quilt.
Layout & Design in Progress
With the units prepared, the quilt begins to come together as one piece. This is where the full design becomes visible.

At this stage, I adjust placement as needed to keep the colors balanced and flowing naturally across the quilt.
Quilt Top Assembly
The individual sections are now being sewn into a single quilt top. This is where the pattern fully connects and the design comes to life.
(Update: This section will be refreshed as more progress is made.)
Quilting & Finishing (Coming Soon)
Once the quilt top is complete, the final steps include quilting, binding, and finishing details.
This stage adds texture and durability, turning the quilt into a finished heirloom piece.
Final Reveal
This softer version of the hexagon quilt shows how versatile this pattern can be. Whether done in bold colors or gentle neutrals, each quilt is made to order with care and attention to detail.
Bold vs Neutral Hexagon Quilts
Most hexagon quilts I’ve made in the past feature bright, high-contrast fabrics. This version shows how the same pattern can take on a completely different feel with softer tones.
If you love the pattern but prefer a more subtle look, this style is a beautiful option.
