Shown here in navy blue, earth tones, and a soft cream background, this quilt radiates warmth and elegance, making it a perfect addition to any space. The Square-in-a-Square design requires several Trim Down stages, making it an intricate and time-intensive project—but the results are absolutely worth it!
With over 4,000 individual pieces, this quilt has been a true labor of love. I lost count somewhere past that number—whew! That’s a lot of precise piecing, trimming, and stitching! But after spinning rulers and rotary cutters around thousands of times, you get pretty good at it. (Seriously, I’m so grateful for all the incredible quilting tools out there—this would be impossible without them!)
Now that the piecing is done, it’s time to move onto the border, and then—my favorite part—the quilting!

Up Next… The Quilt Sammich, ( layering the 3 layers together Top/ Batting/ Backing) and then…. The Quilting! ( The best part)
Each quilt is free-motion quilted by me, ensuring a one-of-a-kind heirloom-quality finish. The quilting adds beautiful texture and movement to the design, enhancing its timeless charm. I havent decide how to quilt this one yet. I know it will be an all over design, as to not compete with all the patchwork. In fact an all over design will mellow the whole thing. Its going to be awesome 🙂

March 30th Update:
Woot Woot! I got all the quilting finished up, and the binding put on last night! Boy its a heavy quilt, the texture you cant show in Pics. And today I got it all washed up, and its drying now. With Quilts like these its best to dry to the 80%range, then let it hang dry to finished up. Its so big for the dryer it would just dry all wadded up. Its great when its mostly dry to be able to let it hang and smooth out and shrink less. Not everyone has the ability to hang something like this, and you wouldn’t want to hang it when its fully wet~ but I’m lucky I have my quilting machine to do it with.

So now I will wait for it to be fully dry, and sadly have to pack it into a box. Its always so hard to throw it in a box and say goodbye. HA~ I would love to see all the quilts I ever made, all in one big room at once… but if I did that I would have no room in my house to live/ much less make more quilts~~~~ So Its on its way 🙂
