A little bit Storm At Sea, a little bit Snail’s Trail, and a whole lot of movement! A Playful Twist on the Traditional Storm At Sea Quilt

The Whimsical Storm At Sea is my playful take on the traditional Storm At Sea quilt pattern. Instead of the crisp, orderly appearance of a traditional Storm At Sea, this version incorporates Snail’s Trail blocks to create sweeping curves and a wonderful sense of movement.

To me, the finished design looks almost like waves rolling and swirling across the ocean. The blocks seem to move into one another rather than simply sitting in straight rows, which gives this small quilt its whimsical personality.

I’m showing this finished version in pink so you can see how beautifully the design works in a single color family. The same design can also be created in other color combinations, including rainbow-inspired choices.

Warm and welcoming, this one-of-a-kind [handmade quilted décor piece] brings texture and charm to your space. Made with 100% cotton fabrics and detailed machine quilting, it’s perfect for adding a touch of artisan craftsmanship to your home.

Finished & Ready to Ship

This quilt measures approximately 30 x 30 inches, making it a wonderful size for a wall, table, chair, shelf, or other small space where you want a handmade quilted accent.

It is made with 100% cotton fabric and has two layers of batting — one layer of cotton batting and one layer of high-loft polyester batting. The combination gives this little quilt a soft, dimensional feel while adding extra definition to the quilting.

The quilt has already been washed and dried flat. Drying it flat helps preserve the fresh, dimensional appearance of the quilting.

This is a completely handmade quilt, made one piece at a time in my quilting studio.
