The busy days of summer are finally here!

I hope everyone is well! Ive been busy inside and out!

I’ve been spending as much time in the garden as I have in the sewing room lately. This has become my “Year of the Roses”—all six of my rose bushes absolutely took off this season and have been keeping me busy with trimming and care. It’s been a wonderful problem to have!

Newly Finished!

In the studio, I’ve been working on several new projects. The newest addition to the shop is my first handmade cotton crochet handbag, the Sunburst Granny Bag. Made from 100% cotton yarn and fully lined, it’s a cheerful summer accessory and a fun change of pace from quilting.

Cotton Crochet for on the go, and for the Kitchen!

I’ve also been adding more cotton crochet items to the shop. The crochet kitchen collection will soon be available as made-to-order pieces in eight different color choices, making it easy to match your own kitchen style.

These Cotton Crochet Dish Cloths are super fun, been working on the perfect size. these are for scrubbing dishes, and have at the sink. I like them to be able to dry over night. So too big they wont dry, this size is around 8 X 5 inches. Perfect for hand size. I will be making the larger Hand Towels, and making matching sets. But it all take time! 🙂 One Day at a time! check back as I build a small collection .

Whats on the Quilting Machine?

this cute blue and cream cutie. Sorta a mix of square in a square, and log cabin combo. Just getting it started this week. It should be up soon 🙂

2 new snugglers listed this Month!

The Granny Snuggler cotton crochet blankets have also been getting a lot of attention lately. They’re wonderfully cozy, substantial, and made entirely from cotton. After washing and drying, they develop a beautiful texture and drape that only gets better with use

Also a slightly larger one loctaed > The Granny Snuggler 44 X 52

Another reason I am doing more crochet is because I can do it outside! I love sitting out on the patio and working!

Outside the sewing room, I’ve been busy with yard work too — planting tomatoes and flowers in the garden. We had such a mild winter this year that everything is growing much bigger than normal already… which also means lots of mowing. LOL. (And maybe a little less quilting.)

I hope everyone is doing well, and~~~~

I’ll SEW ya later!

Sunburst Granny Square Cotton Throw

I’m excited this week to have finished a cute little cotton crochet throw project! I just washed and dried it, and its such a snuggler!!!

These are Sunburst Granny Squares, and I just love making them. Whenever I finish a large quilting project, I always feel like switching things up creatively for a while. I only started crocheting about 3 years ago as something relaxing to do with my hands when I didn’t feel like quilting.

One thing I discovered pretty quickly is that I’m not a big fan of acrylic yarn. I much prefer working with cotton yarns. Cotton is heavier and definitely harder on the hands to crochet with, but I love the feel of natural fibers and the durability they bring to a finished piece.

So… I decided to list this one because it turned out so cute!

This handmade crochet throw contains 63 individual Sunburst Granny Squares and measures approximately 34 x 48 inches. It’s the perfect little blanket for the couch, reading chair, or anywhere you want to stay warm and snuggly. Even though it’s smaller in size, this one has wonderful weight to it. I like to call it “Small but Mighty.”

I also just finished up the Gray Hexagon Quilt, and it turned out amazing! It was surprisingly difficult to photograph because the tones were so soft and light, but it really became a beautiful heirloom piece in the end. I updated the post with new photos and details here: Gray Hexagon Quilt Finished

Additional Scraps/ The Extra Cuts Quilts

In the design process I often end up with extra cuts> some are usable and some not so much/ But This Hexagon pattern creates 1 spare triangle cut. off each set I make. I end up with a lot of them left over that dont match each other. Thats how I came up with The Crazy Triangles Quilt.

So I will be having smaller Gray quilts up coming soon. Plus in the process we often edit out colors and combos, and I ended up with quite a few left, that is also going to be a upcoming quilt soon!! So many quilts, not enough Time! 🙂

I am in no hurry to finished these 2, but if you like one and want me to finish one up for a gift or just becuase you like it, let me know and I will make it a point to finish if you would like early acess to either one 🙂 Both will be a throw sized.

Made To Order Hexagon Quilt/ ~~~~~~~ I also have this Beautiful Blue and Cream Hexagon finished and ready to ship 🙂

Smaller Current Projects

I’m also working on a few smaller crochet table toppers using these same Sunburst Granny Squares. These are more décor sized and would look wonderful on a table, under a plant, in a bathroom, kitchen, or anywhere you want a cheerful splash of color. Im Planning one out for 4th of July, that one will be super sweet!
