This dramatic quilt features a partial Lone Star design created from beautiful batik fabrics in warm golds, salmon, rose, bronze, and deep black. The batiks have an organic, hand-dyed appearance that gives every section of the star movement and depth.

A beautiful bronze-toned background fabric, accented with subtle metallic thread, adds another layer of richness without competing with the intricate star.

Why Double Batting?

This quilt has been made with two layers of batting—one layer of cotton and one layer of high-loft polyester.

Care Instructions

This quilt has already been gently washed and dried flat.

For continued care, I recommend washing gently and drying flat whenever possible.

The quilt can be machine washed on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. However, I do not recommend routine tumble drying.

Dryer heat can cause additional shrinkage and can change the smooth surface and texture of the quilt. Air drying or drying flat helps preserve the shape, fabric, quilting, and dimensional appearance of this handmade piece.

The combination gives the quilt a fuller, puffier appearance and allows the quilting to stand out beautifully. The added loft also gives this decorative piece a substantial, luxurious feel.

The long rectangular format works particularly well on furniture where you want a substantial handmade accent without covering the entire surface.
