So I’ve decided to re make some patterns I have listed already, but do them in different color ways. The first time I did Color Falls I did it in a multi colored, this time I decided to do it in teals. Super calming color. The quilting on this one is super fun. I also used a Hi Loft Poly on this one as to make the quilting pop.
New this week Tulip Trails quilt in Purples, its getting the quilting love this week. I haven’t made a listing for it yet, But I will when I finish this one, so it can be on a Made To Order in other colors.
Also New to start this week is something in Black and white. Been a while since I played in the mono chromatic tones, so I found a really cool pattern called Full spectrum~~~ it should be interesting for those who like a eye popping more geometric pattern. 🙂 these blocks are only 1 element of the overall pattern. Look for that coming up soon 🙂
Thank you so much for looking at my work, I appreciate it !
~~~ I completed these 4 small projects this week. All Im proud to say got finished! Getting quilts actually finished , no matter how big or small are always great accomplishments. There are stories how these small project happen><
some are practice blocks, some are extra spare blocks, and others could be to play with different color ways. Either way~~ they arent bed sized, they are fun sized and can be used in many ways. So I created a new section on my page for : home decor/ smaller quits/ sale quilts, that are finished and ready to ship. The link to my new home décor/ sale section is here: >—- SALE
I finished up all those small projects so I could get my snails trail quilt on the machine, and have started the quilting on this King quilt. Super fun multi colored, one of my favorite combos~
and as with any quilt like the snails trail, there are a lot of waste cuts. The patterns call them waste cuts…. but i can never waste cuts like those. they are not standard shapes which makes them tricky to try to re use. In fact working with these left over trims is harder than the pattern. There are no instructions… 🙂 I just start zinging thread, and see what happens.
so with these “waste cuts” I decided to add a white triangle to the small pieces, to get them to a basic V Block, and if you spin them right, I found a clever new pattern I sorta like. Sorta looks 3D~ If you did it in a 1 color with variety of tones it would REALLY look 3D. Lots of options to change it just by color. Or Black and white would be sharp too.
Thing is~ I wouldn’t be able to use waste cuts if I decided to make this pattern again…. LOL otherwise the waste cuts never end. soooo.. fun thing about it is I found a new random pattern on my own, and now if I had to re make it~~ I could just make it now~~ and cut the leftover cuts on purpose~ LOL
I do my best to manage the “scraps” but they never go away… LOL I love it~ here’s a peek at my work table late last night, as I was able to get it into rows. This is how those random non bed size projects happen…. 🙂
It was so much fun for me! Once I started I couldn’t put it down! Once I started I just wanted to keep going and now my lawn is so long I dont know how Im going to mow it! Quilting does that to me, sometimes I get lost in the fun. and pretend I dont have others things I SHOULD be doing. haha.
This Fabric Panel It is a Digital Print and is whole cloth. ( not patchwork)
They are very sharp with the custom quilting. I have done these prints before but never in this size. They come in 45 inch, 60 inch, and now this one was 108. Super sweet. After the quilting and washing it measures at 96 X 100.
By the time I finished, I was running out of different ideas for the petals. There are a LOT of petals.
I quilted each flower petal differently, used several thread colors throughtout, and just had a blast doing this one 🙂
Its going to make someone’s room very happy and bright looking.
So I was lucky to have found this digital Floral panel BEFORE they sold out. ha! This project is a special one.
I have done many of these panels by Kauffman, but it has mostly been the 44 inch or the 60 inch ones. This one is 108 inches!
and is quite different because of the scale of the petals. These are so much bigger its allowing me to do a variety of motifs, on each one~ . So I decided I would take time and smell the roses with this one. I have no plan other than to do each petal different 🙂
Going to be a beauty to see it finished. I may update on this one before its finished, as its taking me longer to decide the quilting as I go. It will be up for sale soon, and……. I did get 1 more just like it. sooo I might take a custom order for it, but I only have the one. ( for now) I will keep looking back as the have another colorway of dark purples and blues. but I haven’t gotten one yet. They sell out fast/
So Im enjoying quilting this one graffiti style and just have fun 🙂 We all need more fun, and less doom… LOL anyhoo….
I might be here a while… ha!
But I also have 2 new patterns going, Doubly Charmed, and Ripples.
and 1 new almost finished Irish Chain. ( listed soon this week)
Doubly Charmed: in multi colors/ haven’t decided what the borders will be yet, or how big it will end up>< but the pattern is so sweet, and would look great in other color variations. I will try to get a listing started for this one soon, so it can be custom ordered also.
Irish Chain Finishing soon~ Also I have this one ready to be bound on the edge, and washed, which means …it will (should be) be up listed this week. It measures Before washing: 102 X 106. So it will be King size. but i wont know the actual size until after I wash it
I have been wanting to try a differnt motif, so there would be more than one options on this beautiful, simple, classic design. I finally made it happen. Sooo many quilts i want to do, sooo little time! 🙂 I will update the listing with these new photos.
2 ~ And then this one going on this week is a Red White and Blue Patriotic one~~ that is my first time doing this pattern~ ”
Ripples” Another Deb tucker pattern. very sharp patterns.
Super fun, and lots of open space for some creative quilting. This one still has a ways to go this is just the center . It will be getting a lot more white and 4 more stars on each corner. and isn’t actually bright white, I like my USA quilts almost always in antique white so it has a more vintage look. But could be ordered bright white. and it would be nice in other color ways. I will soon have it listed on made to order when I have more completed pictures.
So as usual, I have several things going, everything always gets finished, but not always in the order I started.
and focusing on just one at a time isn’t how I do it. ha! Keeps me from getting bored. Try to keep up! LOL
Sooo.. next couple of weeks some of these will be listed and finished.
Whew what a interesting New Year! I’m sure we all have our stories of how the crazy has been crazy!
I have had lots of changes, including basically shutting down my main business. As a hairstylist for over 30 years, I had to
make the decision to shut it down. It just simply isn’t worth being open any longer. With people afraid to come in, Stopping the services they were having, and now with the added expenses of trying to keep a brick and mortar open, just became too much expenses, and not enough business left/ I really tried, and with my quilting I was able to stay open longer than some other stylists, but It didnt make sense to keep paying all the bills and watch it just keep declining. Sooooooooooooo onward and upward!
So sadly That’s it~ and now I’m home working on quilts. Which is something I just love doing! I hope I can keep at it. I have lots of customers out there, and I always seem to keep busy. So here’s to new beginnings, even when it means there has been a new ending at the same time.
Anyhoo~~~~~~~~~ This beauty is finished and ready to ship ~ I call it Summer in The Park
It measures 92 X 110 and is super fun and soft quilt.
This is turning out to be a fun pattern. Once you earn how and where to place the colors.
that’s a skill that is sometimes learned as you go. ( after I made a bunch of units with the white not in the right spot) ha! But Im going with more of a vintage feel to this one. I’ve always loved quilts that look like they have had a history.
I had added a dark tan color but then decided it was too dark, so I’m transferring it out. That’s the fun of making quilts, you can decide things as you go sometimes based on what you see.
I will be offering this on a made to order soon, If your interested in one made for you, feel free to send me a message/comment.
Almost finished up with this King size Migrating Geese quilt.
I’m finishing up the border quilting this week 🙂 In between yard work ~~which I have given up on, the lawn mower wont start~ and the leaves are turning and falling now~~ yay mowing the lawn is done! ha! well until the snow flys! Least I know the snow shovel works.. 🙂
I finally got this collections of blocks put together as a whole. The story behind this one is 3 years long. I thought it would be a good idea to teach myself this star block by making 1 in every size. Well when I was done I wasn’t sure how to get them to all fit together, so I sorta lost steam, and set it aside. for 3 years. 🙂 Whos idea was it to make one in every size?? LOL
